His prices were great, but what stood out even more than that was his honesty. We thought we were in desperate need of refinishing or we might ruin our floors. If only I could give this company a 0. This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. We recently purchased our home and discovered a flaw in the floor repair that was done by Colorado Hardwood Floors. Conversation with Jason, the owner, was short, abrupt and disrespectful. He accused me of wanting something for free when this was never discussed. The mistake was caught by other floor professionals and I wanted a quote in correcting or improving the repair. My husband and I are owners of multiple homes and are often in need of construction assistance. NEVER, have I met anyone so rude and mean on the phone, and even to hang up while then following up with accusations over a text. It is our firm belief that to run a successful company, Good Customer service is paramount. We will never use this company, and will never recommend them to any of our business contacts. There are other very reputable companies you can use. Stay away form Jason and Colorado Hardwood Floors.read more

My experience with Colorado Hardwood Floors was not a particularly pleasant one. I paid CHF to refinish 1250 sq ft of flooring including some repair work, stain, and bona hd traffic finish. This work began on Monday 10/30. For most of that week, I only had one worker that was at my house. This meant work wasn't even completed until the following Tuesday, 11/07! Very frustrating as I had already taken two weeks off work at that point. According to their website, a typical hardwood floor refinish takes anywhere from 2-4 days from start to finish depending on the size and complexity. In the end, the floors do look much better. But there are still some minor things and I can see sanding machine marks greeting me in my living room in the right light. By the time they were finished, I just wanted my house back. I don't know if they were understaffed at the time or what, but with the lack of work early in the project, I feel as though the job was too rushed to finish that quality diminished.read more

These guys are amazing. They came out quickly to measure and check out the job. Their installers came out ready to complete these floors, and what a wonderful job they did. Not only were they here when they said they would be, but they were extremely hard workers and cleaned up their work area, as well as keeping the rest of the house clean. It was a great experience working with Pete and Brittany at CHF. We contacted CHF to remove old carpeting, sand/stain existing hardwood floors and install new ones throughout the house. Pete was able to provide multiple quotes as needed and met our rather quick timeline. They ordered all of the needed materials (dumpster, wood, etc.) and were able to complete our project on time and in less than a week. We are very happy with our new floors and have recommended CHF to friends looking to take on similar projects.read more

Colorado Hardwood Floors gave us the best price by far, but apparently you get what you pay for. The communication was poor from the beginning - we tried to confirm the install date multiple times but never got a response. We also asked for guidance on how to prepare our house (e.g., moving furniture) and never received a return call or email. The quality was definitely not what we expected. There were gaps in the wood used on the stairs, some dark stains that were actually under the finish (that weren't there prior), sanding marks, leftover stain from the previous finish, divots 1/8th of an inch deep. The finish used is not holding up well at all - any water seeps through to the wood almost instantly. We fully expect we'll need to have the floors refinished again within a year or so. We tried to call our contact person and the main office to discuss our concerns and did not receive a call back for four months! The owner finally came out to the house to discuss our concerns and basically told us that we didn't know anything about wood floors (my husband is a furniture maker and we have built a log cabin). He was completely disrespectful but finally agreed to take $1000 off the remaining balance. I wish I had gone with the other company that bid, even though it would have cost $3000 more.read more

If i can give 0 stars I would!! This place is an absolute joke!! From the communication to the actual work! I hired them to do some backsplash and they sent an incompetent guy first who could never show up early enough to make a full days work… he left a mess and a bunch of tiles that needed fixing, as well as a 5/8” gap between the tile and cabinets…. Then after over a month they finally sent someone out to fix everything but in the end it was really a sub par job. While trying to deal with fixing everything chaz was everything but helpful in the process ( i dont even know how he still has a job!)and the people in the main office were no better. I learned that if I ever need tile done I’m just gonna have to learn to do it myself that way i don’t have to deal with the headaches againread more

I have used Colorado Hardwood before. Called them this time to see if they could do something with our kitchen floor. It is a cherry engineered floor which has been refinished once but you can’t refinish it again. Jason suggested doing a light abrasion and a new coat of protective. I can’t believe how fantastic it looks! Our floor gets a ton of traffic with grandkids and my husbands walker-they were able to get out all the surface scratches and it looks brand new. This will be something I do every year from now on. Thank you!read more

When I called Dark Star they were booked so I had to schedule 3 months out. After waiting 3 months, I emailed Russ the owner. He emailed right back telling me he was delayed a few days but he would come over the next day to check the trim. On the next day, no word. I waited a few more days then emailed again. No word. I called. No word. 7 days passed with no responsiveness so I began to call over and over to find out what was going on. On the 9th day he responded with a nasty email telling me he didn't want to work with me even though I waited 3 months to work with him!So unprofessional!read more

I collected three estimates and Colorado Hardwood Floors and one other were competitively priced (a third was over $1400 more). I selected CHF because they could get me on the schedule within 2 weeks versus 5. Their crew and admin reps were professional and responsive, and their work crew installed a beautiful 6" white oak floor in my large office. They cleaned up afterwards, too. The floor is gorgeous! We had roughly 2000 ft2 of finished in place oak hardwood installed in a rather intricate floorplan, including a stairwell and landing. In addition, the new floor had to match a large area of existing oak flooring. The final product was excellent. The work proceeded virtually nonstop over two weeks while we lived in the basement, so we were able to observe the entire process. Excellent craftsmanship while getting the job done in a very efficient timeframe. Will definitely use CHF for our next hardwood floor project.read more

I contacted Chaz at Colorado Hardwood Floors after Footprints Floors wouldn't put me on their schedule for repair work (though they were happy to do it if I was replacing the floors). I had kept getting put off and told they could "maybe" put me on the schedule, so I was getting frustrated because I was on a time crunch to get my house on the market. Chaz was professional, honest, and upfront, and was a real pleasure to work with - night and day from what I was experiencing with the other company. He got out there early the next morning to provide the estimate, and got me on the schedule within a week. Even with a slight hiccup (the floors that were there that needed to be sanded down were very thin), the work was executed perfectly and beautifully. I'm so glad I called them!read more

We are simply delighted with the work performed. We needed our floors resurfaced, and from the estimate to completion CHF was very professional and friendly. We appreciated both Russ and Mikes hard physical work over the 4 days it took to do 1300 sqft of floor. We especially appreciated how Russ showed us even more pictures of previous work and helped us pick just the perfect modern color for our red oak floors. We chose a 3/4 gray with 1/4 brown that Russ custom made. The dust mess was minimal and they did a really good clean up. The communication throughout was better than we expected, and allowed us to live peacefully in the house during the process.read more

Colorado Hardwood Floors were great to work with! Everyone from the Estimator, Office staff and the work crew were first rate! Our floors are exactly how we wanted them! This is the first time in having floors screened and varnished the guys were actually on hands and knees spreading the varnish with small varnish pads rather than a huge mop on a long pole. In these times the crew respected our wishes and wore masks and were very professional! I would recommend CHF for a great job and providing excellent quality!read more

Great company. I found their prices reasonable. They were very responsive, on time, and did top notch work. We ran into one issue with timing to complete the job. DO NOT do business with CHF. I had a great initial meeting with Chad, one of the owners, and he convinced us to stick with keeping our original red oak floors and adding to them, rather than pulling up all of our hardwood and carpet and replacing with laminate. I signed on with them at the beginning of June, and was told I would receive our requested stain samples the first week of July, our project start date is 8/1. I didn't get my first stain sample until 7/10, after reaching out and requesting it again. Chad brought the samples to my house, told me what I was looking at was exactly what our floors would look like because the stain was on red oak. He also apologized for not getting me the stains sooner and said he could have additional stains to me that Friday if needed. Fantastic! However, when I reached out to him and Kelsey that night for additional colors and I was told I wouldn't have them until next week. At this point, we're already three weeks out from our start date. Chad brought out additional stains on Friday - one of which was the same stain he brought out earlier in the week, and they're completely different colors. I called him today to ask why they were different colors and he said because the first stain he brought out was done a while back and had faded. When I asked him about the comment he made that these stains are exactly what my floors would look like, he began interrupting me and making excuses. I called Kelsey the receptionist to cancel our project and she said she would be more than happy to send me educational materials on the difference in wood types and how that affects stains. I have never dealt with such disrespect and unprofessionalism from a company I almost gave $17,000 to. I HIGHLY recommend you go elsewhere.read more

I am above and beyond pleased with my hardwood floors, they turned out more beautiful than I ever expected. The stain and water based finished recommended by the project manager is just perfect. I had a very good experience with CHF, they removed existing carpet and baseboards and installed about 220 sq ft of oak flooring with sanding and a stain and seal in about 3 days.
