Gym Floor Installation

Installing gym flooring can be done in a variety of different ways. We work with both fixed and floating systems. In our years of experience we have problem solved and found solutions for unique systems in older buildings and found ways to meet the needs and budgets of schools that cannot put in a sprung gym floor.  Performance gym flooring or sprung gym floors use a cushion and underlayment system to give the floor cushion and flexibility that makes them ideal for sports like basketball and volleyball. The floor has more give with these systems than a traditional wood floor increasing safety and comfort. These systems are popular for gymnasiums but also are ideal for yoga and dance studios.

We have wonderful crews that will travel to your site, go over the details of the process, confirm the design elements that had been preselected and then sand and refinish your gym. The transformation takes only a matter of days and is truly remarkable. Many gyms have years and years of finish on them that has ambered, as we strip that away to raw wood you begin to see the beauty of the maple again.

Gym Floor Maintenance

Maintenance coats are another of our athletics services. Maintenance coats are also called buff and coats and screen and coats. This service is something many Colorado gyms take advantage of yearly and helps to protect the investment they made in their gym flooring and keep the slip coefficient levels in the proper range. When doing maintenance coats we don’t remove any existing logos, paint or finish but we can add design elements during this process. Maintenance coats are a great time to add new lines if you are adding new sports courts to your gym.

Gym Floor Design

Design is one of our favorite parts of the process. When working on installations and refinishes we get to create custom floor designs for our customers. We combine a variety of elements to create your custom floor including stain, paint, logos and finish. We can make your floor a show stopper when the right elements are combined. Our graphics team can take your school’s logo and make it into a beautiful element of your floor. We are also able to match almost any color and have worked with universities matching pantones to ensure the paint is the exact shade the school logos use. 

When talking about athletic flooring we often focus on gymnasiums and basketball courts but it is important to touch on other applications. Athletic wood flooring can be used in dance studios, yoga studios, recreation centers, grange halls and other meeting places. In these applications the floor may not need design and paint work but refinishing and maintaining it is still very important.
